Who We Are

We are so thrilled to be providing the valley's athletic community with the highest technology and quality gear!  The wide range of our expertise and enthusiasm comes from our varied backgrounds.

Owners Dave and Gigi Orr

Dave Orr started in Little League and moved through the baseball ranks playing in college and then for the San Francisco Giants. 

He has remained an indelible figure in the athletic community, coaching football, baseball, and basketball.  His personal successes as a player have been rivaled by his coaching successes which include H.S. All-Star Coach, Oregon BCI National Tournament Coach, and seven state championships in fast pitch softball.

Gigi Orr is a marathon runner and an extreme sport enthusiast.  Owning and operating a successful day spa business for the past 25 years has emphasized the importance of great customer service to her.  Gigi's vision for Competitive Athletics is to continue to provide excellent service, and with her outgoing personality, it is easy to see why her clients return.

Owners Larry and Nicki Wright

Larry Wright has an eye for design.  His talent is "displayed" throughout the store.  For 30 years Larry has designed custom kitchens and furniture in many houses and banks throughout the valley.  If you take the time to look beyond the apparel, you'll notice the creative displays and woodwork showcasing his talent.  

Larry is also an avid mountain biker, back packer, and hunter.  If you catch him in the store he can tell you where the must-see visual gems and pristine lakes of Oregon and Northern California lay.

Nicki Wright embodies the store's namesake.  From playing football in middle school to being an active marathon runner now, she was one of the female athletes that grew up without the protection of Title IX but helped demonstrate the need for competitive, supported female athletic programs.

Her coaching timeline begins with her middle school daughters' volleyball and basketball teams, and then extends to high school cross country and track where she was Oregon Cross Country Coach of they Year and Oregon High School Coach of the Year; her coaching accolades also include five consecutive State Championships in Cross Country.  Not to mention both daughters went on to perform at the NCAA level for 4 years and now coach; it must be in the blood.
